The Position 

Applications are invited for a Commercial Assistant to develop relationships with new and existing customers, assist with the accounts and expand of our Fallen Stock Businesses. This role will be based at our SecAnim Ltd, Wrexham or Widnes site, however flexibility and travelling is required in line with the duties of the role. This is a full time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week.  

Your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include: 

  • Office and Field based account management of key customer accounts.
  • Identifying prospects and winning new business to ensure business is improving and ensuring target margins are achieved.
  • Visiting potential new customers to promote the Company and its services.
  • Managing and growing existing accounts ensuring quality of service, customer satisfaction and responsiveness to changing demands.
  • Monitoring trading levels and maximising opportunities for additional business.
  • Preparing quotes/re-negotiating terms.
  • Liaising with the National Fallen Stock Manager and the Fallen Stock sites to ensure new and current services/contracts are carried out to the correct frequency as required.
  • Gathering and maintaining up-to-date market intelligence within the local areas, monitoring competitor activity (services and prices), and communicating as necessary.  

The Person 

  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of the Fallen Stock/Agricultural industry.
  • Experience in a commercial sales-led environment.
  • Awareness/understanding of the legislation relating to the industry, including DEFRA.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, with good presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Sound negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Be forward-thinking with regards to long term development and strategic planning.
  • Be able to engage with stakeholders at all levels of understanding and interest and be able to build strong working relationships.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel with nights away from home, when required.
