The Position

Applications are invited for a Health & Safety Officer at our Doncaster Site. This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As a Health & Safety Officer your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:

  • Oversee the incident and accident reporting procedure, including completion of RIDDOR reports and insurance liaison, where required.
  • Organise Health Surveillance, including employee attendance.
  • Carrying out monthly checks on confined space equipment and organise routine servicing.
  • Review all risk assessments, safe working procedures, COSHH assessments and policies as required, including development of new risk assessments where necessary.
  • Conduct contractor and new employee inductions.
  • Arrange internal/external training for the site, liaising with management to co-ordinate attendance.
  • Carry out Fire Marshall / Fire Warden / Fire Investigation Team training and arrange First Aid initial and refresher courses for site first aiders with external training provider.
  • Arrange, chair and minute the quarterly H&S Committee Meetings.
  • Carry out H&S Compliance audits for the site and carry out monthly Health and Safety inspections, send results to relevant site managers including recommendations of how to reduce risk or remove hazard.
  • Assist with other compliance matters at the Site, including Environment and Energy.
  • Keep records of all documents for audit purposes.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required/requested by the Management Team.

The Person

  • IOSH qualified as a minimum (NEBOSH desirable)
  • Good knowledge of H&S legislation within a manufacturing and logistics environment.
  • Experience of preparing formal documentation for third parties/external agencies.
  • Good IT skills (including Microsoft packages).
  • Excellent communication with willingness to work with Managers for the best interest of the business.
  • Willingness to work to ISO standards.
