The Position 

Applications are invited for a Poultry Operative based at our Nottingham Site. This is a full time permanent position, working 12 hour day shifts on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights). 

As a Poultry Operative, your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements, but will include: 

  • Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the production operation, reporting any issues to the Team Leader.
  • Follow SOPs and COP to ensure consistency and compliance with specified standards.
  • Maximise productivity and throughput of the process whilst maintaining agreed parameters.
  • Provide support and enhancement to the Team and conceive and co-ordinate improvements where necessary.
  • To work with the Compliance Team to ensure compliance with all areas of quality, environment, energy, efficiency, communications, and health and safety.
  • Observe and maintain Critical Control points throughout the process.
  • Completion of HACCP/compliance documentation.
  • General factory housekeeping duties. 


  • Must be able to prioritise the workload.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Be flexible with working hours.
  • Be able to self-motivate and work well in a team.
  • Previous experience within a similar role would be advantageous although training will be provided where necessary.
