The Position

Applications are invited for a Senior HR Advisor to work at our Doncaster Site. This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday. This role will involve travel to our other UK sites. 

As a Senior HR Advisor, your duties and responsibilities will vary on the Company’s requirements but will include (but are not limited to): 

  • Support managers/supervisors with all HR related issues tactfully and with discretion.
  • Provide HR advice to management to enable compliance in all areas of employment policy and legislation, building the reputation as a 'trusted adviser'.
  • Assist the Head of HR in the management of complex ER processes (including re-structure, redundancy and TUPE).
  • Support Head of HR in project work.
  • Provide guidance to members of the HR Team regarding case work.
  • Help to drive a performance culture throughout SARIA Ltd, working with all management levels to increase the productivity of employees.
  • Work with the management teams to ascertain performance levels and skills gaps, making appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure that termination / exit processes are adequately managed.
  • Provide an effective and comprehensive HR Service to a high level, managing and dealing with Employee Relations issues as follows:
    • Disciplinary / Dismissal
    • Absence Management – long term and short term.
    • Grievances
    • Performance / Capability
    • Recruitment
  • Write and deliver HR related workshops / training sessions to the site management.
  • Review and update, in coordination with the Head of HR and in line with legislative changes, all HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned to business objectives and rolled out across the Group.
  • Assist in the production of management reports and statistics.
  • Promote fairness, equality and diversity.
  • Contribute ideas in order to continuously improve the HR function. 

The Person 

  • To hold CIPD Level 5 Diploma/Certificate in HR (or equivalent) (CIPD Level 7 would be advantageous).
  • A sound understanding of Employment Law and HR related Case Law.
  • Extensive experience as a HR professional.
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment and within a blue collar/FMCG environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to self motivate and motivate others and embrace/drive change.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide to our other UK sites and stay away from home when required.
