The Position

Applications are invited to apply for the position of a Supply Chain Assistant at our Widnes Site. This is a full time permanent position, working 40 hours per week.

As a Supply Chain Assistant your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:

  • Assisting in managing the raw material supply chain – coordinating supplies with customers and internal personnel.
  • Ensuring the efficient running of the Company’s collection services.
  • Planning efficient operation of the vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels are maintained.
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and statutory obligations for vehicle operations, health & safety and other legislation.
  • Assisting with the management and development of drivers.
  • Maintaining driver records and drivers hours in line with EU rules regulation (EC) 561/2006.
  • Prepare vehicle KPI’s in line with ReFood requirements.
  • Be responsible for the setting up of new customers.
  • Maintain relationships with current customers.
  • On-call phone cover on alternative weekends.
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested by management.

The Person

  • Good formal education.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to balance conflicting demands.
  • Good knowledge of transport regulations.
  • Previous experience of working within a transport office.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an ever changing environment.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Committed, reliable and flexible team player.
