We are deeply saddened to announce that our former chief executive, Charles Reynolds (76), passed away on 18th March 2021.

Charles first joined SARIA Ltd – previously Prosper De Mulder Ltd. (PDM Group) – in 1992 following the acquisition of Nortech Foods, a business owned by Charles at the time. He went on to hold several senior positions in the company before becoming chief executive officer.

During the BSE crisis, he played a pivotal role in the company’s development of the renewable energy plant at Widnes, which resulted in the company being world leaders in the safe combustion of animal by-products to generate renewable energy.

Andy Smith, chief executive at SARIA, commented: “A true larger-than-life character who was a real inspiration to all those who had the pleasure of working with him, Charles always placed great strength in the values of teamwork, ambition and integrity. He was instrumental in developing the company’s operations in markets such as renewable energy and our specialist joint ventures, all of which helped to develop the company into the business it is today.”
