PDM Group Nominated For Top Recycling Awards
PDM Group has been shortlisted for two national recycling awards – ‘Recycling and Waste Management Business of the Year’ in the National Recycling Awards, and ‘Waste Management Initiative in the Commercial and Public Sector’ in the letsrecycle.com Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management.
PDM has built up a unique nationwide food waste collection and processing service, recycling waste foods from all elements of the foodchain to produce renewable energy and bio-fuels.
Philip Simpson, Commercial Services Director at PDM is delighted with the nominations. “These nominations recognise the continued investment that PDM has made in developing the service, creating a unique nationwide infrastructure and the level of business we have attracted.”
“It comes at a time when everyone is under increasing pressure to reduce their environmental impact and carbon footprints yet still deliver cost effective solutions”.
“The shortlisting for these awards not underlines the contribution our portfolio of services are making and the recent launch of the ReFood anaerobic digestion plant network shows that we committed to continued innovation”.
PDM’s food waste recycling services are used by many of the best-known names in the food chain including major retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons, caterers such as Baxter Storey, hotels such as the Savoy and Government bodies such as the Environment Agency.
Unlike alternative service providers, PDM is able to provide a secure recycling service for all food waste streams, including those harmful to human health.
The winners of the letsrecycle.com Awards will be announced on 20th October, and the National Recycling Awards on the 27th October 2009.
